Patrick Garland

After graduating from Nottingham University Patrick joined a national compounder as a nutritionist in the research department. Spells in formulation, mill management and poultry research provided the grounding for overall responsability for diet specifications, research programmes and technical support to colleagues and customers. Liason with retailers and close involvement in the development of codes and practice as well as feed mill audits gave solid understanding of the need to meet commercial requirements across a wide range of needs. Feed processing was a particular area of interest as it related to poultry nutrition and food safety.
Prior to joining Premier Nutrition, Patrick spent over 6 years in the animal health sector with a global pharmaceutical company. Commercial responsability in the UK and Scandanavia for sales of veterinary feed additives and water solubles as well as feed ingredients, with particular emphasis on the poultry industry, has given an insight into the relationship between nutrition and health in poultry farming.
